Olivia Estrada is a writer based in Manila, Philippines. After completing a degree in Literature from De La Salle University in 2013, she quickly plunged into the world of publishing. She started out as an editorial assistant at an independent media company based in Makati. Here, she was assigned to write online and in print about the hottest in youth culture, from fashion to entertainment. The best experience from this job? Getting a face-to-face interview with her personal idol Charli XCX.
In 2015, she joined Preen.ph, a women's lifestyle website under Inquirer Group of Companies. She furthered her portfolio through creating content daily, from writing breaking news stories at 8 in the morning to making fashion listicles, beauty reviews, culture thinkpieces, social media posts, and advertisement features. She also sharpened her skills in producing various shoots, from profiles to video tutorials. Her favorite story with the feminist publication, however, is her piece calling out a government official's sexist remarks made during an international interview. Because one cannot live on writing about sheet masks alone. Though one must always put on a sheet mask every other night, she believes.
Olivia has also contributed to other publications such as Northern Living Magazine, Southern Living Magazine, Scout, InquirerRED, and the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Currently, Olivia remains eternally curious and buzzed about telling stories, from talking about the latest in trends to making chronicles about today's tastemakers and newsheadliners. Just about anything that makes for a good read.
